Winter is when being offline hurts most: no way to book a GP appointment, check a benefit, apply for a job or call family. Winter Data Care gets free data, SIM cards and devices to people across south London who would otherwise be cut off.

Keeping people connected when it matters most
As winter sets in, more of life depends on being online, from health and local services to staying in touch with family and support networks. Yet winter also widens digital inequality, leaving people without the connectivity and devices they need to stay safe, warm and included.
Digital exclusion is not only about a lack of internet. It is also about missing the devices, skills and confidence that make connection possible.

Delivered with Good Things Foundation and Community TechAid across Southwark and Lambeth, and published by City Hall in the Greater London Authority’s Community Insights Hub. We learned that devices matter as much as data, and that need doesn’t end when winter does.

- Devices too old to be updated safely
Your data is safe. Please sign out of your accounts and remove any payment cards if you can. We factory reset every device before it’s passed on. Not sure about an item? Ask us.
