Empowering Futures

Building Inclusive Pathways to Digital Confidence, Access, and Opportunity

Empowering Futures is IFB Gaming’s flagship programme dedicated to improving digital participation for individuals and communities who face the greatest barriers to accessing online services, learning, and opportunity. Grounded in empathy, community engagement, and sustainability, the initiative provides practical support that enables people to learn, connect, and thrive in an increasingly digital society.

At a time when essential services, education, and employment have moved online, digital exclusion has become a pressing social challenge. Empowering Futures responds to this by delivering hands-on support, tailored skills training, and localised access points that meet people where they are and help them take the next step confidently.

What We Do

1. Device Access and Connectivity Support

We work with partners to provide free SIM cards, refurbished devices, and connectivity assistance to individuals and families on low incomes, refugees, asylum seekers, and those with no recourse to public funds. These resources ensure that people can stay connected, complete essential tasks, and access vital services.

2. Digital Literacy and Skills Training

Empowering Futures delivers friendly, practical workshops covering essential digital skills, online safety, communication, employability, and confidence-building. Our sessions are accessible, non-judgemental, and designed to build long-term digital capability.

3. IFB Data Waypoints

We support the development of community-based data hubs—safe, trusted spaces where individuals can access Wi-Fi, receive guidance, and build confidence. These Waypoints act as local anchors, creating continuity of support and fostering community empowerment.

4. Sustainability and Carbon Literacy

Through our Carbon Literacy offer, we help communities understand digital sustainability, device lifecycles, and low-carbon choices. By linking digital access with environmental awareness, Empowering Futures supports a greener, more equitable future.

Who We Support

Empowering Futures is designed for people who are most at risk of digital exclusion, including:

  • Individuals and families on low incomes
  • Refugees and newly arrived communities
  • Young people with limited access to devices
  • Older adults lacking digital confidence
  • People with no recourse to public funds
  • Those transitioning into work or education

Our work is guided by the belief that everyone deserves the tools, confidence, and support to participate fully in the digital world.

Our Impact

Through targeted interventions and strong community partnerships, Empowering Futures has achieved measurable improvements in:

  • Digital confidence and independence
  • Online safety awareness
  • Employment readiness and learning engagement
  • Access to essential services
  • Reduced isolation and improved wellbeing

The programme demonstrates how local, empathetic support can turn national digital inclusion ambitions into real outcomes for real people.

Why Empowering Futures Matters

Digital exclusion is not simply a technical issue. It is a social, economic, and wellbeing challenge. Empowering Futures addresses the human side of digital inequality by combining access, skills, and community-based support with an understanding of lived experiences.

By connecting individuals to opportunities, we help create pathways to a more inclusive, resilient, and empowered society.
